Billy got an invite to go and race the Suzuki Tri Series in December 2014, because he only got back from Afghanistan in the November everything got a bit squished up. His girlfriend Hannah said it was “fine” to go (only kidding Hannah) so after a week with Hannah in Egypt late November Billy and two of his mates flew out to New Zealand. They met up with a guy called Beau McFarlane who is a friend of the family and had supplied a Suzuki 600, and the trip was ON. Because of the late arrival Billy had missed the first round of the series, so he did some testing at Manfield in the north island. Then the lads went on a trip to the south island for some extreme sports. Then back up to the north for the second round at Hampton Downs, he was trying to ride round a few handling problems which resulted in a small crash. In the aftermath of this crash the bike was repaired and put on the dyno, which when on it proceeded to promptly shit itself. So the hunt was on for another bike before the last round at the Wanganui street circuit.
